Principal Biography

Jeff R. Vervlied has over 15 years experience in marketing and business development of engineered materials. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an Executive MBA from the University of Delaware, where he is the recipient of the University of Delaware MBA Alumni Leadership Award.

Mr. Vervlied has succeeded in management positions at Fiber Materials Inc., Heltra Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Courtaulds plc., and FiberCote Industries Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Park Electrochemical Inc. Prior consulting engagements have included an extended role in the Composites Business of Ciba Specialty Chemicals, projects with divisions of Hexcel Inc. and Rutgers AG, and over 15 different roles with private specialty chemical, engineered textile and advanced material producers, converters, and end users.

In addition to relationships with engineered materials producers, Mr. Vervlied has been engaged directly with venture capital firms, valuation firms, management consulting firms, buyout groups, investment banks, market research groups, and entrepreneurial management teams.

Mr. Vervlied maintains an extensive network of professional relationships in patent and intellectual property law, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, merchant banking, commercial banking, valuation, corporate venturing and management consulting.

Mr. Vervlied currently holds memberships in SAMPE, I&SS. He is active in numerous related technical societies and trade associations, and a regular participant in Association for Corporate Growth, Greater Philadelphia Venture Group, Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, Commercial Development and Marketing Association, Eastern Technology Council, Early Stage East, New Jersey Technology Council, and Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals events.

Combined with extensive market and business development experience, this allows Materiality LLC to bridge the gap between the products and markets of the specialty chemicals and engineered materials industry sectors to finance and capital markets.
